About Citrolive

Hardening of the arteries is on the rise—in the condition’s early stages, plaques of cholesterol, fatty substances, cellular waste, calcium and fibrin—a clotting material in the blood—accumulate on the arteries’ interior walls. As deposits of these plaques build up, they make it harder for blood to flow through.

Key risk factors for this condition, also known as atherosclerosis, include high levels of “bad” cholesterol, high triglyceride levels, high blood pressure, an unhealthy lifestyle, aging, family history and more.

The first line of defense against atherosclerosis is to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system, and that starts with adopting a healthy lifestyle that involves regular physical activity and eating a balanced diet. The Mediterranean diet—with its high fruit and vegetable content and abundant use of olive oil—has become the gold standard for what a balanced diet looks like, and it has a significant scientific track record of reducing cardiovascular-disease risk to support it.

CitrOlive™, an innovative natural ingredient, is a concentrated delivery vehicle for the phytonutrients known to be prevalent in the Mediterranean diet. It’s the product of extensive research into the major phytochemicals, polyphenols and flavonoids that characterize citrus and olive. CitrOlive™’s unique patented blend of bitter orange and olive leaf extracts supports cardiovascular and vascular health while protecting the vascular system globally against hardening.

CitrOlive™'s effectiveness was confirmed in a clinical study, with health benefits appearing to rise particularly from its robust “antioxidant” activity (free radical scavenger, anti-inflammatory activity, modulation of endogenous antioxidant…)

CitrOlive™‘s activity is truly a “team effort”: It’s the synergistic interplay amongst all the extract’s constituents—an interplay demonstrated in both in vitro and in vivo studies—that makes it so valuable.

Health Benefits

Based on our data we find that Citrolive™ supports:

Arterial health by helping to decrease two major risk factors: triglycerides and oxidized LDL cholesterol levels
Vasoprotection by improving vascular elasticity

Mode of Action

Based on current hypotheses, CitrOlive™ acts via the following mechanisms:

  • Decreases levels of oxidized LDL cholesterol and increases vasoprotection by way of antioxidant action
  • Improves vascular elasticity by regulating the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase
  • Decreases triglyceride levels by inhibiting pancreatic lipase and blocking partially the emulsification of triglycerides with bile salts

CitrOlive™ decreased triglycerides (-15%) and oxidized LDL cholesterol levels (-38%).

UCAM study

CitrOlive™ released endothelial nitric oxide and prostacyclin, causing vascular relaxation.
